Though traditional names like Nora, Margaret, Joseph, Nuala, John, Sean and Paddy have been popular names in Ireland for past 50 years but Lucy and Thomas have topped the list of famous Irish baby names. William was the most popular choice for parents till April, after the birth of Prince William’s baby it was expected that George will take over the seat but it was used as the middle name. The most flamboyant names of the last year like Persephone, Cuisle and Eulalia, Tuan, Eden and Jarun have been popular but taken a back seat towards the end of 2013.
It is also observed that the choice of eclectic names like Pepsi, Peppa, Pinky, Puppy and Boden are likely not to stay in the top chart but will be adopted as popular names. Jack and Emily topped the list in 2013 now they have stepped down.
